Ms. Olson is currently the Executive Director of the Center for Diversity and Inclusion at Massachusetts General Hospital (“CDI”), one of the first academic hospital-based centers in the country dedicated to helping build a diverse community of physicians and scientists and fostering a culture of inclusion and respect. Ms. Olson led the transformation of CDI into a full service central resource for students, trainees and faculty, from two programs based in one department to twenty initiatives and programs across all hospital departments. She developed critical strategic partnerships with leaders and diversity, equity and inclusion stakeholders inside and outside the institution. Among her many collaborative accomplishments, Ms Olson led and helped implement strategic plans for community health, race equity and workforce diversity; she designs curricula and facilitates trainings in unconscious bias, inclusion, cross-cultural communication and team feedback for healthcare professionals; and also established a novel pilot program for Partners Healthcare trainees to alleviate the burden of the high cost of living in Boston. She is also a certified career coach. Ms. Olson practiced as a civil and commercial litigator for eight years before joining CDI. She received a BA in International Affairs with a minor in Biology from Goucher College, a JD degree from Santa Clara University School of Law, and a Certificate from the International Institute for Human Rights in Strasbourg, France. She was born and raised in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and is trilingual in English, Spanish and French. Ms. Olson is passionate about championing social justice and equity issues, especially in education and healthcare. Among her many activities outside the hospital, she served on the board of directors of the YWCA Boston and led a strategic planning effort to improve health and nutrition in the Brookline Public Schools.
