My background has mainly been in acute admission wards and community. over 4 years ago I moved to criminal justice and I am one of two community charge nurses working with Tomorrow's Women Glasgow. we are a multi disciplinary organisation which include social work staff,housing, prison officer and 3rd sector workers. We support women offenders who live in Glasgow to try and reduce their offending. My specific role is to provide support assessment and a liaison role for the womens mental health. offering education and support to my colleagues. Offering individual trauma work to the women we support this being complex trauma work. We also provide education groups around physical health/mental health. The role is difficult to confine into a few words as it is varied and complex. You have to think fast on your feet. I love the women I work with and enjoy the challenges the post brings. Watching these women turning their life around from addiction, homelessness, chaos is inspirational. I have such admiration for the work they do and the way they embrace the challenges they face on a daily basis.
