During my study business administration at the Erasmus University of Rotterdam, I learned how to analyse organisations in their environment: what goes right and especially what could and should improve? I developed a special interest in public-private relations and that's why I choose Public Management as my specialisation (major). After my master degree I started as an auditor at the Netherlands Court of Audit. There I learned how to find the right story. During the years in which I developed into a senior auditor and later audit manager I came to understand that the right story could and should be told in different ways to set people and changes in motion. For instance by using images, like maps and infographics, or using audiovisual possibilities and social media, like animations and Twitter. But most of all by bringing people together and connect their knowledge, experience, creativity and energy. I truly believe in the power of sharing! In my current position as audit manager I am responsible for finding the right story and telling that story to the right audience, in the right way on the right moment. I also actively share my knowledge and experience by coaching, supporting and training the auditors in my teams and colleagues at other Supreme Audit Institutions around the globe.
