In this field I have developed new understanding of fundamental physics as well as written successful proposals to access neutron beam time. Here in, my goal is to improve our understanding of unusual magnetic behavior at atomic levels while finding ways to transfer this knowledge to build useful and meaningful technologies such as multiferroicity. Additionally, my postdoctoral research has been focused on conducting hydrothermal growth of sesquioxides (Sc2O3 and Lu2O3) targeting high-powered solid-state lasers. The main goal of this project is to identify specific system of the lanthanide sesquioxides Ln2O3, particularly the lutetia and scandia analogs and grow relatively large single crystals doped with a variety of trivalent ions with detailed spectroscopic studies for use in high power lasers. The preliminary results of this project was funded by Department of Energy in 2015.
