At Boeing, he was responsible for a security team of 144 armed and unarmed officers. As the Director of Public Safety at the Beverly Center, one of most iconic malls in Southern California, he managed a team of 28 security officers, responsible for approximately 900,000 square feet of prime retail space. Earlier in his career, Don distinguished himself as a member of the Los Angeles City Fire Department where he received the Fire Department's highest honor, the Medal of Valor, as well as numerous department commendations and awards for his actions in the line of duty. Don is a Certified Protection Professional (CPP) and a Certified Physical Security Professional (PSP as well as a State Certified Firearms and Baton Instructor, Private Patrol Operator (PPO) and Qualified Manager with the California Bureau of Security & Investigative Services. He is a National Rifle Association (NRA) Certified Pistol, Rifle and Shotgun Instructor at the Law Enforcement level. In addition, he holds an NRA Range Safety Officer Certification, and he is also a "Refuse to Be a Victim" Certified Instructor and promotes this nationally recognized crime prevention program from the NRA.
