Diomonique Merritt Email & Phone Number | Mahatma Ghandi once said, “the best way to find yourself, is to lose yourself in the service of others."   Upon completing my Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing, I began my nursing career as well as my journey of self-discovery on a medical-surgical/oncology unit at Torrance Memorial Medical Center. In that time I had the pleasure of caring for men and women who showed amazing courage to battle and sometimes defeat cancer. Seeing the incredible courage of the many patients I have cared for led me to pursue a graduate degree in nursing focusing my studies as a Family Nurse Practitioner because I wanted to continue to devote myself to the service of others. As a nurse, I chose to become a part of a team that is solely vested in the greater good of humanity. Since the start of my career, I have been able to utilize the nursing process competently and effectively, illustrating the use of my critical thinking skills and independent judgment. In addition, I am not only able to care for individuals, but for groups as well. My clinical experience as a Registered Nurse has given me the opportunity to communicate with patients, families, and colleagues while exercising my professional and therapeutic skills.   Being educated at a liberal arts college and having taken religion, sociology, and philosophy courses, I am confident in my capability to communicate with individuals and families at all levels while providing culturally competent care. I possess the drive, dedication, and compassion to care for patients while working effectively with others. I feel prepared through both classroom knowledge and clinical experiences to be a successful addition to your company as a Family Nurse Practitioner. I plan to continue contributing to the mission of nursing by working in my community to ensure that patients are properly cared for and educated on the importance of preventative healthcare services and so much more.
