I’m especially interested LTC pharmacy. In 2010, I founded and was Director of Levana Autism Support Services. We were able to increase the quality of life for families affected by ASD by providing much needed respite services. Regrettably, I had to step away from this position in order to take care of my own health and family. The need for services in the area of day programs, residential, and work support programs for individuals with ASD is significant and ongoing. I encourage those who are interested in this field to seek out requests for proposals from local regional centers. Regional centers often have funding opportunities available for organizations or individuals looking to provide services for developmental disabilities. In 2002, I founded Burlingame Moms for Special Kids as part of the Burlingame Mothers Club. At the time, it was a much needed support group for families affected by developmental disabilities. Together, we learned and advocated for services and inclusion support from our local school districts. Many of the Moms in this group went on to advocate on a higher level. It really does take a village.
