Derick Lane Email & Phone Number | I may be what you call a “late bloomer” to the world of Engineering as I didn’t become seriously interested until my later high school years, and beforehand was not introduced to the idea of a career in Engineering. But I must say this is a career choice that could lead to endless opportunities, and it helps that they are also very exciting. My Associates Degree in Electronics Engineering Technology has given me a good start in this industry, but I am working towards a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering to further expand those possibilities. Even in my short experience history I have come across some very interesting products that were the results of great engineering, which contribute to my desires to learn more. I believe my experience up to this point has laid a solid foundation to where I feel well rounded. Starting from an Electronics Assembler working with circuit boards at the component level to an Electronics Technician having to build wiring panels from schematics. I use what I learned then today as a Field Service Technician, where I have added a ton of Mechanical experience so I am able to better understand Engineering from an Electronics and Mechanical prospective. I crave to add more knowledge and skills to my expertise which include increasing my aptitude in CAD (Computer Aided Drafting) beyond what I currently possess. Whether in the classroom, on-the-job or self-education I intend to constantly grow into a great Engineering Professional.
