Currently, he is teaching Introduction to General, Organic, and Biochemistry for Nursing majors and Organic, Physical, and Quantitative Chemical Analysis for Science majors. Dr. Sadat-Aalaee's expertise in the areas of research, discovery and innovation include: - Synthesis of long chain peptides by rapid solution methods, including an analog of an insect peptide hormone. - Conducted research for a project involving characterization of molecular and macromolecular structure in collaboration with the protein engineering group. - Discovery of the first peptide agonist with high potency and selectivity for the Somatostatin receptor subtype. (hSSTR-1) and hSSTR-5, Antagonist for hSSTR-3 and analogues with potent inhibition for Neuromedin B receptors. - Application of Combinatorial Peptide Library technique in the Structural-Activity Relationship (SAR) studies of short peptide-drugs. Research on Receptors (MC1-5), as well as Melanocortin Concentrating Hormone (MCH) Receptor; contraction of ring size and Cys inversion and incorporating gamma Amino Butyric Acid and PNA's in Somatostatins.
