But now, it may be time to test that hypothesis and see what else I can do besides directly practice law. However, I'm more than willing to continue working in the direct practice too. I have a demonstrated history of working across the legal realm from prosecuting misdemeanors and felonies to serving the public in law enforcement as a deputy sheriff and most recently working as a criminal defense attorney. I also worked in insurance defense shortly after leaving law school and found that it is possible to research and write a 20 page memo about the definition of "on" ... seriously, that still resonates with me and I regret having lost a copy of it. I am an accomplished attorney with experience mostly in the criminal law world, but also with some personal injury and family law work, including divorces, SAPCRs, child support cases, and custody modifications. My passion is to work with people or with up and coming companies and institutions that have a true focus for making the world more positive. As a successful business owner, I have enjoyed putting my clients first and striving to get them an outcome they desired. However, I am open to change. I am realizing that it may be time for me to transition out of direct legal representation, so I am open to many different ideas... my current "calling" seems to be pulling me toward teaching, but leading a team or helping to develop policy for a company would be an ideal fit for me too.
