Since then, geographic information systems, or GIS, has developed into its own technology market within the IT industry. GIS brought together spatial and attribute data and allowed users the benefit of being able to look at data visually, and beyond the standard methods. My background in GIS had brought into the role of GIS/Cityworks Administrator for Canton Township, MI and to my current role as GIS Coordinator for the City of Panama City Beach, FL, where I not only manage a GIS database, but also subject matter expert in the Utilities Division for the Cityworks asset management system. The application is used to process service requests and work orders to track labor, material, and equipment costs on work performed the city assets by the various departments. As an entrepreneur, I've taken the wealth of experience gained through my diverse background in technology, business, and government, and brought those skills to the role of REALTOR, as well, with Clients First, REALTORS brokerage in Canton, MI. As a REALTOR, I've applied my career experience to the Real Estate field to market within the industry to help clients looking to buy or sell property. Today's Real Estate industry, although still a personal contact business, relies heavily on the use of technology for research and communication, and has provided a natural pathway for allowing me to apply my skills to a dual career field.
