Here I gained proficient skills in flow cytometry, cell culture, primary cell isolation, mouse handling and procedures, immunoblot analysis, RNA and DNA isolation, PCR, RT-qPCR, B cell proliferation and activation assays, cell migration assays, immunisation and in vivo activation assays. Outside the lab, I have also worked with diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) initiatives. At the Crick, I was part of the committee for PROUD Crick (LGBTQ+ group) as the gay male rep. Currently at GSK, I am a DEI champion and I am leading the DEI team for my department. Some of my successes in this position include: introduction of a calendar with different cultural events with insight behind the events to facilitate learning and appreciation of different cultures for the department, and introduction of a "diversity lunch" for the department where people share different foods from different cultures.
