I worked part time for the Henderson Leadership Initiative as the Executive Director. As the former Public Information Officer for Henderson County Schools, my role was to serve as a liaison between the schools and the media/community. My job duties included writing news releases, planning news conferences, photography, videography, and responding to inquiries from the media. I helped maintain the school district’s website, social media accounts, and cable television network. Creating promotional items such as brochures, posters, booklets, etc. was part of my job, as well as creating newspaper ads, radio ads, and television ads. I represented the school district at various public meetings and helped with community events. Before I started working for the Henderson County Schools, I worked as the Marketing and Communications Coordinator for Northwest Kentucky Forward, the regional economic development organization. In that role, I provided international and external communication for the non-profit organization, planned new and existing business events, created video spotlights, designed all marketing materials, and served as the public relations director for OpportUNITY 2016, a 2.8 million capital fundraising campaign. I also promoted education and workforce development programs, such as Rotary Colonels 2 College (as a board member), Parent Engagement and RiverBend Academy. I serve(d) on the following boards: 1. Rotary Colonels 2 College 2. Henderson County Rotaract 3. Henderson County Young Life 4. UK Alumni Association for Henderson County
