Prior to law school, I developed a great passion for using the law to pursue justice as a police officer with the College Station Police Department. I honed my legal research & advocacy skills, as well as my understanding of the trial process, through my recent employment as a legal assistant for a prominent Houston-area defense attorney as well as two legal internships with district attorney's offices in both Ohio and Texas. I have strong trial advocacy experience, including seven total years in mock trial competitions beginning in high school and continuing through my law school career. Throughout the course of these competitions, I was twice recognized by the American Mock Trial Association as an Outstanding Advocate and in 2016 my South Texas trial team won a national championship. These opportunities were helpful in providing me with an understanding of how much preparation is required to competently bring a case to trial.
