  Daniel Martinez is a I received my Masters of Architecture at the Boston Architectural College in 2020, as well as my Bachelor in Sustainable Design in 2016. My career in architecture has allowed me to experience different paths in the industry, from working on design proposals and construction documents at architecture firms to urban interventions proposals with the Congress for the New Urbanism (CNU). My personal focus throughout my career has been the intersection of sustainability with architecture design and the application at an urban scale. I have earned commendations for my Degree & Thesis project at the Boston Architectural College. My bachelor degree project focused on the applicability of DIY green walls and gardening, as a medium for neighborhood renewal through a high school program for adolescents in their community. This project was inspired by my time at CNU: New England and the applicability of tactical urbanism as a means to provide education and opportunities for young entrepreneurship. More recently, my Master of Architecture Thesis focused on green infrastructure by reimagining the food market through sustainable planning. My project seeks to challenge the current unsustainable agriculture norm by creating a "Farm Market" prototype using an existing supermarket as the footprint. The Farm Market uses indoor grown vertical farms and greenhouses to produce it's own food supply. My goal was to reimagine our perception of the market. To create an intersection of a pleasant shopping experience, entertainment, and sustainability with real world application. Through my investigation, the final design was able to yield 16.7% of the estimated vegetable demand for a population of 45,000 people, enough food for about 7,520 people. As a professional designer, I've worked primarily on residential multi-family housing and mixed use developments. My approach towards design has been motivated by my education experience as well as my professional work. Something that intrigues me is reimagining the approach towards common materials to conceptualize new ideas.
