Dani Nedal Email & Phone Number | I am an Assistant Professor of International Relations at the University of Toronto's Department of Political Science and Munk School of Global Affairs and Public Policy. I hold a PhD in Political Science from Georgetown University. I study world politics, with a focus on international security and foreign policy. My book project explores the relationship between urban geography, interstate conflict, and nuclear policy. Some of my other projects include topics such as the geography of civil wars; international authority; superpower management of international crises; the effect of nuclear and conventional balances on crisis outcomes; the domestic politics of US covert action; and the role of gender in the peer review process in International Relations. I have previously worked on nuclear proliferation, China-Brazil relations, Brazilian foreign and defense policies, terrorism, and trust building and cooperation. I have held fellowships at Carnegie Mellon University, MIT, and Yale. I have also worked with International Studies Quarterly, the Institute for Conflict, Cooperation and Security at the University of Birmingham, the International Politics department at Aberystwyth University, the Center for International Relations of the Getulio Vargas Foundation the China-Brazil Business Council, and the Program on China and Latin America at the Inter-American Dialogue. I have published articles in peer-reviewed journals, edited volumes, specialized newsletters, newspapers, and magazines. I also co-edited the first-ever Portuguese-language reader on Chinese foreign policy.
