  Dan Clayton is a I have worked between academic research, biotechnology, medical research, a medical device company and drug-screening projects in Australia and in the US for over 20 years. My main expertise would likely be classed as either protein biochemistry-engineering, peptide chemistry or biophysical-analytical biosciences - but there is a wider multidisciplinary focus to my work as you will notice if you look at the project outlines shown below. My main research interest is biomolecular recognition, the structure, function and dynamics of membrane proteins and their drug screening and biosensor applications. Some techniques I have had experiences in are; SPR (Biacore), DSC (differential scanning calorimetry), CD spectrometry, solid-phase peptide synthesis, OCTET biosensor, Karl Fischer coulemetric titration, RP-HPLC, ESI-MS, patch-clamp electrophysiology, and a large number of protein purification and analytical approaches.
