In the 2020 Australia Day Honours, Damien received an award of Member of the Order of Australia (AM) in the General Division for his significant service to business across a range of roles. He is currently Chairman and Independent Director of Ego Pharmaceuticals, a manufacturing business operating in global markets. He also Chairman of the Community Pharmacy Friendly Society, as well as Convenor Chairman of the Australian Security Industry Association Disciplinary Committee. Previous roles include Executive Chairman of IOOF and multiple other director roles. He was also Executive Officer of Australasian Society of Association Executives (Vic), and Chairman, Faculty of Corporate Governance Institute of Public Accountants. Damien is presently lecturer in the MBA Master Class on “Beyond compliance: Governance, Risk and Performance”; and has also been a Course Author and Examiner, Legal Studies unit, MBA (for Professional Engineers), Deakin University/La Trobe University/ Chifley Business School. He has authored many publications including Directors’ rights and responsibilities, Work Health makes Work Sense, and Engineers and Legal Liabilities. His latest work which is to be released in 2020 is Unintentional Dishonesty – Governance sans frontieres.
