Starting out in Hospitality at 18 my first job was as a "glassy" in a fast paced club & awoke in me a passion to be a part of this fantastic and amazing Industry. This culminated in me securing a Leasehold on a closed, derelict hotel premises while negotiating a business partnership with a couple of mates, refurbishing it on a shoestring budget with everything involved to then open and jointly manage the pub offering Entertainment, Food & Beverages - by all measures an overnight & runaway success. After 3+ hectic years I needed a change. I sold my share in the pub and Partnership, moving on to my first foray in the luxury accommodation sector. The Radisson Playford Hotel & Suites - A brand new 5* boutique property at the pre-opening phase. Starting again front-line, I rapidly moved from F&B across to Rooms Division, rising steadily over the next four+ years. My roles evolved from Portering to Concierge, Head Concierge, Guest Service Agent, Night Auditor & finally Assistant Front Office Manager. I was then approached to lead a syndicate in another pub venture. I accepted, becoming Managing Director, beginning the task of sourcing a property/business, raising additional finance and shareholders, building the business plan and budget, recruiting the operational team and day to day management of the business. I resigned my role toward the end of 1st operational year to focus on another opportunity. This entailed moving back to the Hotel accommodation sector in an entry level front office role. The Private company I had joined offered a cluster of properties, were then unbranded & would allow me to showcase my experience and skills while offering me further opportunities and challenges to continue my growth. Before I knew it 16.5 years had passed and I had covered nearly every position possible - it felt like the blink of any eye. I have a diverse skill set, communicate well at all levels, enjoy working alongside and leading teams to achieve positive results as I have consistently proven throughout my 30+ years experience.
