I also wrote press releases and other communication materials the brands required. Pre-pandemic, I transitioned into specializing in communications for Non-Profits. I worked as Communications Coordinator for Presbyterian Support Northern. One of New Zealand's biggest non-profit organizations, it delivers social services to the people of the North Island of New Zealand through its four service brands: Family Works, Shine, Lifeline, and Enliven. My responsibilities included donor communications, social media management for Family Works Northern, and interviewing clients for whom PSN services have made a difference. I enjoyed re-telling their inspiring stories. I am happiest and thrive best when I can partake in meaningful work that changes people's lives in a small but lasting way, when I am able to contribute towards creating a positive social energy, using my skills to spread information and enthusiasm, inspiration and empowerment. I'm temporarily based in Montreal, Quebec, and am a member of the Quebec Writers Federation and the New Zealand Society of Authors.
