Around that same time, I also began drafting for my father which blossomed into my own design practice, a business that I still operate today but now as a real estate investor. In 2000 I accepted my first professional position as a technical drafter at Architects Northwest. This is where I gained a valuable foundation in land planning, feasibility, site studies, and value engineering. From there I moved to my role as a loyal and steadfast employee at Estate Homes Design (design/build firm) where I lead the design team for over ten years. After that, I worked six years as an Architect and team leader at Freiheit Architecture where I also served as the chair of the social (employee care) committee. My current position as Director of Residential at Clark Barnes has further expanded my career with multi family and CLT projects. All of this has added up to over twenty years of experience and hundreds of projects in and around Seattle and I still wake up wanting to design every day. People are one of the reasons why I love what I do. I have a natural ability to win the confidence of my clients and I enjoy helping people design projects that become a long term asset to their families and businesses. Clear and thorough communication with clients as well as jurisdictions, engineers, estimators and field managers has allowed me to build a stellar reputation in the design and construction community in and around Seattle. Design is not only a career choice for me, but it is also what I immerse myself in outside of work as well. I am passionate about my growth both technically and creatively. I have a self-driven habit to research and investigate the technology, sustainability, and innovation that make great design possible. I spend my free time attending design conferences, traveling to see projects of interest, and renovating mid-century homes in Seattle.
