Courtney C Email & Phone Number | An outgoing, passionate 3rd Year student at the University of South Wales, studying BSc Professional Policing. I have many interests and experiences from my time at university including a lot of Volunteer work within my local police force and local charities. I have a real passion for Policing and I have served as a Special Constable in Gwent Police Force. I also volunteer for Locate International by reviewing and investigating further into cold cases in the UK; I have a great interest in investigation of cases and enjoy this area of policing. University has also allowed me to travel and network internationally with other police forces and institutions within the Netherlands, Germany, Australia and Canada. This has allowed me to widen my perspective on policing and also create some great networks for my interest in research. University has sparked my inner passion for always wanting to question and research further into problems. I have been fortunate to be able to dedicate my dissertation research project to help out my local police force by researching into the complexities of community cohesion in multiculturally dynamic communities where sex-workers operate. I am finding this topic very interesting but equally challenging to research into, other research interests of mine stem from human trafficking and modern day slavery which I would like to take further, especially focusing on the topic of ‘Organ trafficking’. Marketing has also been a large part of my time at university, even though I am not studying the topic, I have been involved heavily in the marketing department at the University; in person but also digitally. I have been to many marketing events and delivered many presentations to large groups of students and professionals, this has increased my confidence massively. Recently due to the pandemic, most work has now moved online which has allowed me to adapt to an online working environment using video conferences, delivering presentations online and making online marketing content which was something new for me but I have grown to really enjoy. Lastly away from work I have a real passion for Latin dance which I use to unwind and relax outside of work and my studies. I also run my own dance class as part of Salsa4water which is an organisation which I volunteer for. It is an international organisation that raises money for Water Aid by putting on dance classes and the profits going to the charity! I am excited to next complete postgraduate studies part-time alongside a full-time job in an area of policing or research.
