Cory Shaw Email & Phone Number | I started by design business immediately out of High School in 1993. I moved from the east coast to set up shop in Oakland as Next FX and transition from doing things by hand to a new digital environment. In 1995 I partnered with legendary illustrator / painter Doze Green and for 4 years we created hundreds of projects for the music, fashion, and action sports industries. In 1999 we both split up the business and pursued new career paths back on the east coast. I was determined to blend all of my interests of illustration, design, photography, writing, editing, and music and there was a newly emerging profession that did just that. Motion graphics was the name for it and I created Buildestroy in 2000 in New York City as a means to enter that world. In New York I had the chance to work on a wide range of projects for a very diverse group of clients that matched my diverse range and interests. I was able to make an animated tour video for the song "Californication" for the the Red Hot Chili Peppers, PSA's to bring awareness to Mumia, Sesame Street short films, Wu-Tang Clan clothing line, and huge 3D pre-viz projects for the leading architectural firms in Manhattan. In 2003 while on a film project in LA I met my wife and quickly moved from NY and set up Buildestroy in Los Angeles. I also began freelancing and meeting my network and future team. From 2004 until now I have been blessed to freelance for the top companies while maintaining a large client base of my own. I have been a designer, animator, creative director, visual effects supervisor, editor, live action director, actor, cinematographer, compositor, typographer, muralist, and puppeteer - and that is why I love my job. I've managed to get some awards and press including 2 Emmy nominations for main titles in 2010 and 2012. Also a Sports Emmy win for the ESPN 30 for 30 film When the Garden was Eden.
