  Corey Triplett is a https://coreytriplett.weebly.com While an undergrad student at The University of Michigan (Ann Arbor) I was a participant in the Prison Creative Arts Program (PCAP) and ran a drama club at Parr Highway Correctional Facility for Men. In short, this experience inspired me to become a public school teacher. Immediately after graduation I started my professional career in South Los Angeles at Bethune Middle School under the auspices of Teach for America. While at Bethune I taught Special Education (Special Day Class), as well as Secondary ELA and Drama for the mainstream classroom. A few years later I was invited by Dr. Michael Moody (CEO & Founder Insight Education Group) to join the English team at LEAP Academy Charter School where I studied and practiced strategic curriculum design for 9-12 grade classes, including AP English, for a total of two years. Most recently I was recruited by Chief Academic Officer of KIPP SoCal, Angella Martinez, to aid in the improvement of student academic outcomes as a classroom teacher. Other professional experiences include teaching 12th grade English abroad at Emirates National School in Abu Dhabi (U.A.E), teaching acting at the Alabama Shakespeare Festival where I was also a professional actor, teaching beginning vinyasa yoga with Yoga to the People (NY, NY) and teaching 9th grade writing as a long-term sub at a TEAM School in Newark, NJ. I earned my B.A. in English Language and Literature (U of Michigan) and then later received an M.F.A. from The New School (New York). I was born in the Huachuca Mountains of Ft. Huachuca, Arizona. Because both my mother and my father were in the United States Army, I have lived in approximately 10 different states since birth, as well as Panama City, Panama. I have been fortunate enough to travel to Russia (St. Petersburg), Portugal (Lisbon), Spain (Seville), France (Paris), U.K. (London), Germany (Berlin), Morocco (Chefchaouen), Egypt (Cairo), United Arab Emirates (Dubai), and Oman (Muscat).
