Having started my career in small businesses, I was often involved in system administration and IT services as well as development. The skills I built allowed me to move into high-responsibility bridging and architectural roles as my career progressed whilst I had amassed a large amount of knowledge of IT administration, processes (such as ITIL, Scrum and DSDM), and support as well as development. This knowledge has been very heavily utilised in recent years where I have designed entire environments both in terms of IT infrastructure, OTS software and bespoke development but remained hands-on with the implementation of the systems, both from a development and hosting/infrastructure perspective. I believe this hands-on approach is important in order to keep up to date with latest technologies and techniques, and to not be left behind by the rapid pace of evolution within the industry. I am passionate about my work, a good team leader and worker, self-motivated, and possess the capability to quickly assimilate information, prioritise, understand a client’s needs, multitask and cope with complexity whilst also remaining calm under pressure.
