  Colin Baxter is a I am an artist based in the south of France. My paintings range from large oil paintings to smaller water colours and encompass an array of subject matter. Born in East Anglia, England, in 1944 I have been painting since childhood. After studying Fine Art at Hornsey Art College, London, I worked as an art teacher and sculptor in England for many years and continued painting and exhibiting my work. In 1989 I moved with my family to southern France, renovating an old stone house and constructing my studio. My work continues to evolve as I am always exploring. Painting for me is about finding what is hidden through losing control and allowing the possibilities to surface. A painting is a window into another world which can stimulate your emotions and allow you to see things differently. I sell my work to individuals as well as working with international professional interior designers.
