For 8 years I lived and worked in New Zealand, as part of a future-thinking transport engineering team who partner with public sector clients and private consultancies to deliver a range of transport projects. I grew up as a professional over there, and found my passion in infrastructure advisory- I get a kick out of helping governments to spend wisely, build a legacy and achieve their goals. My passion is engaging with stakeholders, thinking outside the transport corridor (or outside the usual planning box) and planning for real people and real futures. ------‐---------- I graduated as a Civil Engineer end of 2012 and have been practising my skills in traffic and transport engineering since early 2011. A field I have come to enjoy, where opportunities are many and I find my skills and interests well-suited. I am proficient with general transport planning, pedestrian studies, planning for public transport, cycling and sustainable travel. I am keen to see transport environments locally and around the world move towards efficiency, sustainability and overall to support the health and wellbeing of the people who use it. Recently, I have also been working with public sector transport clients to inform their investment decision-making. We write business cases after working closely with the NZ Transport Agency and Auckland Transport to determine the best approach for investing in Transport. It's all about collaboration and transparency. The latest challenge is to ensure all of our transport investment logic is joined up - are we thinking about safety across our projects? Does this project complement what the other programmes are trying to achieve? Are we ensuring sustainability of the transport system? I have also worked to launch and pilot programs for the new Transport Management Association (TMA) at Macquarie Park and North Ryde, Sydney. (www.connectmacpark.com) The future holds endless possibilities for opportunities to work in transport and serve the worlds commuters and travellers. I hope to be able to fulfil influential roles, in various places around the world, where I can cultivate new and innovative ideas and bring about a positive change through transport planning.
