Claire Antell Email & Phone Number | Well-known in the UK trade and media as a passionate promoter of Latin America and the Caribbean, I have worked for nearly 30 years in tourism, starting as a tour operator where I had years of experience in reservations, contracting and product management. Since the early 1990s, I have focused on promoting Latin America as Sales Manager at Americas before becoming UK representative for Wilderness Explorers of Guyana in 2003. I am proud to have helped put the Guianas on the map in the UK where we now are featured by more than 50 different operators and have worked closely with the media and key bodies to showcase the region as well as with local suppliers and indigenous communities. In Guyana I have been involved in product development and staff workshops where I have given training on health and safety. Concurrently I have done trade consultancy work for the Ministry of Tourism of Ecuador as well as Turismo Chile. I am proud to have been inducted into the Latin American Travel Association Hall of Fame for my services to the promotion of Latin America after nearly 16 years as Executive Secretary of LATA. I helped to grow the association in many ways including recruiting members, arranging press and trade events, presenting seminars, liaising with members and engaging with tourism authorities and other associations to promote Latin America as well as co-producing the annual LATA guide to Latin America with Wanderlust. I was a founding trustee of the LATA Foundation, a charity dedicated to supporting worthwhile projects in communities across Latin America. Creative, enthusiastic, hard-working and reliable, I have excellent communication skills and strong lasting relationships with many sectors of the travel community and media. I am now Managing Director of Hemisphere Marketing, a dynamic tourism marketing company operating in London and Melbourne where I am helping to set up the new Australian Travel Association for Latin America.
