  Christine Ranaghan Forte is a In 2014, I assumed the role as the primary caregiver for my father. Five years later, my dad died from brain cancer, at his home, in October 2018, at the age of 97.  I had to put my career/employment on hold in 2014. My daily priorities became concentrated, focused and attentive on my father's well being, aging, illness, terminal diagnosis and ultimate death. He wanted to stay in his home and with that mindset there had to be decisions, reassurances and solidifications of this protracted and long lasting commitment by me and his family.   I loved my dad very much but the responsibilities, obligations and duties became startling and cataclysmic in 2014. I resigned my position as Vice President of Educational Outreach and Program Development at a national non-profit organization. Being a caregiver for my father’s acute difficulties brought me aptitude, skill, expertise and reconciliation in supporting him through his best days, his worst days and then through his decline and death. Submerged in my role as primary caregiver brought a reckoning of my own self care which included both physical health and mental health. I came upon CareGiving.com during the last several months of my dad’s life, where I learned insight from others who had experienced what I was going through. I came to realize that in a single moment the role of a caregiver changes in the most unimaginable ways. It is with readiness and willingness that I continue my career, where my life experiences, business skills and core competencies integrated with my passion and professional commitment to launch CR Forte Associates, LLC.  I am a Senior Caregiver Solution Specialist who continues in the field of eldercare educational outreach to help answer the question - "What do I do now!" In 2019, I completed certification classes to become a caregiving consultant, facilitator and educator through CareGiving.com. I have also made the important decision to continue my education by becoming a member of the American Caregiving Association. I am working on completing my training in the National Caregiver Certification Course, National Assisted Living Manager’s Caregiving Certification, National Assisted Living Manager’s Certification Course and the Advanced National Caregiving Certification. I look forward to having all completed by May, 2020. As of January 1, 2020, I look forward to the support, consultation and advocacy with older adults and caregivers in New Jersey.
