For these reasons, I would like to provide a little more information about me, my skills, and my experiences. I hope you find this information helpful. I spent upward of 20 years working in telecom of one kind or another. In fact, my first "real" job was working for a company reselling long distance when telecom first was deregulated. (Yes...that long ago) I moved on to working with paging and then wireless companies for many years afterward. I was in provisioning at Metrocall (paging), when I took it upon myself to learn Access and build a database for the first time. I saw a need, as there was no central place for this information, so I created one. That database was used company-wide from that point until they closed. Next, I moved to wireless, at Nextel Partners/Nextel. I was one of the project coordinators for the southeast. I did telco provisioning, ordered and scheduled E911 services, and more. In this position, I also developed databases to track network information (OC48, OC3, DS3, T1, Trunks, E911 information, etc.). While at Nextel, I was on the project team that built a new switch in Pensacola. This project involved over a year of planning. Detailed tracking, communication, and coordination was absolutely critical. Live customers were moved seamlessly, all services restored within 30 seconds, tower after tower. I've also had many years outside the communications world in areas as diverse as running a regional sales distribution company, owning/managing an event space, and working in higher education. I am very organized. I am a "processes" person. I implement processes where there are none, and try to make current processes more efficient where I can. I write lists. I like spreadsheets. And, I love being challenged - especially when it provides an opportunity to learn something new! I enjoy contributing to a team, but also like having my own responsibilities. I have worked in all kinds of environments and with all kinds of people. I tend to get along well with just about everyone. I feel that I communicate well verbally, as well as in writing. I've been around the block a time or two, so I know how to be professional. I truly hope this gives you at least a small idea of who I am and what I bring to the table.
