From there I began an apprenticeship at the New London Submarine Base in CT. This apprenticeship consisted of full time employment as a facilities maintenance electrician under NAVFAC and night classes for 4 years at New England Institute of Technology resulting in an associate's degree in Electrical, and an E2 license. From there I transferred to the utilities branch of NAVFAC as a high voltage apprentice. After showing proficiency in the maintenance, testing, and operation of 13.8-34.5 kv air switches, breakers, and underground distribution, I was promoted to jorneyman lineman. I have completed AVO training in substation maintenance, medium voltage terminating-splicing, medium voltage breaker maintenance and low voltage breaker maintenance. I am pursuing any and all training I can, and will be pursuing my E1 licence to further my code knowledge and professional career.
