  Christa Kloha is a I ran for the UCSD Cross Country and Track & Field teams competitively while obtaining my BA in Visual Arts (Media). While I enjoyed making art, I wasn’t clicking with a lot of my college courses like I had hoped I would. After finishing college, I felt a bit directionless, so I took a leap into the nonprofit world working as an AmeriCorps member with South Bay Community Services. There, I served as their Volunteer Outreach Ambassador for my year long term. While I loved working in the nonprofit community, I wanted to keep exploring. I found myself landing a role as a Relationship Coach, which begun my pursuit into the psychology realm. A year or so later, I branched off, pursuing and obtaining my Master’s degree in Sport and Performance Psychology. The goal was to continue coaching, but more specifically in the athletic space, with the end goal of obtaining my CMPC (Certified Mental Performance Coach). If you couldn’t tell, I missed being in the athletic environment! While I have enjoyed my pursuit in the psychology and coaching field, I have always felt this nagging presence to get back into art. Throughout my years of working in other positions, I have always found my way back to creating art; i.e., for social media content, personal projects, or even mission statement stickers for an entire high school football team. Presently, I am taking a leap yet again to pivot back to what I originally studied: Visual Arts.
