I have a background in semiconductor engineering for communications and have worked in infrared, visible red, blue green and violet material regimes. A strong device physics understanding has underpinned my primary expertise in device testing where I also have to apply knowledge of optics, mechanical engineering, control software, data analysis, data presentation as well as IP and patents where the testing strategies have required development of leading edge technology. At Oculus Research Cork I lead a small team of test engineers and data analysts to provide medium volume data analysis for material, device and design characterisation of prototype and alpha parts, and yield & binning data for production evaluation purposes. I am a comfortable communicator, enjoy addressing groups, public speaking and teaching groups or one on one. I've broadened my knowledge base by taking a masters degree in renewable energy. I have run a couple of my own businesses over my career and I have also played guitar since i was 13, turning that into a hobby/business by running my own publishing and distribution business, writing recording and performing to this day. I maintain musical knowledge gave me useful insights to mathematics, engineering and physics as wave behaviour and frequency domain analysis ( applicable to electrodynamics, quantum theory, crystallography and semiconductor physics) are intuitive to me.
