Chris Joye Email & Phone Number | Who am I? I am a composer with an extensive background in scoring media, specializing in narrative storytelling, documentary and corporate branding. Where do I come from? My musical experience started at a young age with piano lessons, but was short lived until picking up the bass guitar as a teenager. This rapidly evolved in to my sole obsession, as I studied with an accomplished and inspirational guitarist who constantly pushed me to be intentional, accurate, and eager to learn everything about music, music theory and technique. My career developed immensely as I attended Berklee College of Music and made the decision to focus the majority of my attention on scoring film and television. Through working as an independent contractor, I have worked on media projects with some of the largest companies in the world in various industries, in film, television and web-based mediums. I have been able to successfully accomplish not only what they proposed to have the music do, but to surpass their expectations on what the music could make them, and their audience, feel. My work is not always done alone in my studio, but I have had opportunities in my scores to write, arrange, orchestrate, notate, and record live musicians and groups in professional music studios. My network is wide, having lived on both coasts of the USA and in many cities in-between. What will I do? I am driven to communicate effectively with directors, editors and producers and to then disseminate those conversations into storyful and emotional musical accompaniment. I am always in pursuit of compelling stories, whether that be in the drama, horror, sci-fi, or documentary genre, and almost anywhere in-between.
