Interpret engineering drawings to generate Quality Assurance inspection schedules and procedures, ensuring close liaison with the customer’s specialist maintenance team to ensure a high quality finish. I gained approvals to operate the customer’s computer system via a modem link to update aircraft documentation.Responsible for all areas of aircraft maintenance, including, engines, hydraulic systems, flight controls, undercarriage, and airframe structures. Ensured that all works and controlled documentation was completed in accordance with Civil Aviation Authority regulations. All aspects of aircraft pre-flight and after-flight checks and ensured all duties were carried out under a safe system of work. Trained and coached apprentices to high aeronautical and corporate standards.One year “off-the-job” training studying aviation maintenance practices and procedures, in accordance with Civil Aviation Authority standards of operation. Three years “on the job” training with a qualified air-frame engineer to learn and put into practice maintenance skills. Attended a four-year college course to attain a City and Guilds in Aeronautical engineering, and completed an Engineering and Industry Training Board logbook to record all areas of maintenance covered to gain approved engineer certification.
