Charles Ong Email & Phone Number | I have devoted the last 34 years of my professional work life to the financial services industry, out of which 27 of those years were spent in the insurance industry. Most of my years have revolved around the finance realm. Corporate finance, group strategy, treasury, financial and risk management are fields I delved into and dealt with on a day-to-day basis. Very much a numbers man, as my colleagues always refer to me. In 1999, my path led me to Allianz Life Insurance Malaysia Berhad where I took on the role of Financial Controller and after embracing new challenges, I was honoured to take on the role of Chief Financial Officer in 2008. On 1 April 2022, I stepped into the shoes of Chief Executive Officer and on 1 January 2023, I took on the role of Non-Independent Executive Director of Allianz Life Insurance Malaysia Berhad. With 25 years of my career devoted to Allianz Malaysia, I am fuelled by a passion to drive the company to greater heights. I am very honoured to be given the opportunity to do this and to lead one of the fastest-growing life insurers in Malaysia. Protecting lives is a huge responsibility and I am constantly exploring with the team on how we can do better to provide our customers with the best there is to offer. Given the opportunity to be a part of the Rahmah Insurance initiative last year allowed us to extend our role to serve more underserved communities, raising awareness on the importance of protection as we continue to build our base on true customer centricity. Over the years too, we have never given up on our endeavour to cultivate and train young talents, to encourage them to develop their abilities. Our Allianz CEO Programme and Recruit2Grow is the right channel for us to nurture their potential and I am keen to embark on this journey. We will focus on the best growth initiatives, developing capabilities, and making investments that will secure the organisation’s future. I work with an incredibly talented and dedicated team of colleagues and I look forward to continuing this journey, working alongside each one.
