For the first 50 years of his life, he focused on the traditional path of serving the country in the Marines, getting a college education, and working in industry. In the Marines, he was trained in electronics and communication equipment. After the Marines, he worked briefly for a large telephone company and then spent almost a year on the island of Enewetak Marshall Islands maintaining ground and air communications as part of the recovery site for the ICBM development program (1965-66). In 1966-69 earned a BS degree in Physics and Mathematics while working full-time as a TV broadcast Engineer. He was recruited from college to join Digital Equipment Corporation and received industry training as a logic designer and first position as a design engineer connected DEC computers to data acquisition and control devices and fell in love with industrial automation applications. Later moved into sales and most of his 20+ years with Digital was sales, management, and marketing into direct industrial accounts such as US Steel, Dupont, and Monsanto and indirect through integrators and distributors, both in the USA and internationally. While at DEC he worked at DEC headquarters in Maynard MA, Washington DC, Knoxville, TN, Huntsville AL, Columbia SC, and managed the Caribbean from San Juan and later Mexico from Mexico City. Moved back to Atlanta as a Group Sales manager and later a regional mkt manager, retired from DEC in Huntsville at age 50. Was able to take early retirement at age 50 and received a call into the ministry of preaching and teaching. While at Digital he earned a MS in Computer systems and an MBA. After being called into ministry he earned a Doctor of Ministry in Theology and spent almost 10 years doing local jail and international mission ministry and served for 15 years as a pastor while developing a few Internet Ministry websites. Due to his love of computers and industrial automation, he did part-time recruiting of engineering talent. This allowed him to stay connected with technology. He recently discovered the opportunity to combine ministry with recruiting by focusing on the candidate's desires while matching them with an appropriate position.
