Coming from a background in rural journalism, I still feel connected to the spirit of rural communities and the challenges in sustaining them. Primary industries play an essential role in doing this. This has led me back to university to study for a Bachelor of Marine Science – I am keen to be more directly involved in future seaweed initiatives and supporting these through communication activities. As a communicator, I'm most familiar with written content for print and online, and I'm handy with a camera. I've dabbled in oral histories and helped organise community and stakeholder events. I've prepared corporate documents and newsletters for internal and external stakeholders, including annual and environmental reports. I have provided in-house writing training and have also run workshops about writing for the media for scientists and community members. As a communicator, I'm most familiar with written content for print and online, and I'm handy with a camera. I've dabbled in oral histories and have also been involved in organising community and stakeholder events.
