During graduate school, I learned how to do immunohistochemistry with frozen murine brain tissue and noticed that the traditional way of mounting stained brain tissue on slides was challenging. I could see how an investigator could get frustrated and possibly rip the precious sample. This situation inspired me to accomplish my greatest achievement, which was the development of a novel way to mount slices of thin mouse tissue onto slides with ease. When I considered my passion for science and creativity, I realized I would love to build my career in the biotech/pharma world. Overall, I am looking to use my technical and innovative skills, that I have or will gain, to help novel quality products successfully hit the market. Technical Skills • Molecular biology: immunohistochemistry, total RNA Extraction, co-Immunoprecipitation, subcellular fractionation, competitive ELISA, western blot (WB) • Nucleic acid-based tests: reverse transcriptase PCR and quantitative PCR, • Mammalian Cell Culture: maintenance and culture of murine and primary human endothelial cells • Murine research techniques: tail vein sampling, transcardial perfusion and fixation, stereotaxic neurosurgery in mice, and various behavioral tests • Computer skills: Graphpad, ImageJ, Odyssey Fc Dual-mode Imaging System, LI-COR Image Studio lite, Microsoft (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint), and Adobe Illustrator If you are looking for an inventive and determined scientist who never settles for how things have always been done, please contact me.
