I graduated high school with the intent to become a Navy pilot solely because that was the career path of dozens of current and former astronauts. When I fell in love with engineering during university, my career path changed, but my passion did not. In the years since I've graduated, I've led build operations to assemble rockets as big as a skyscraper, and I've pioneered the process to make the engines that take those skyscrapers to space. From mass-manufactured next-gen Raptor components to the Merlin Turbopump that now routinely puts astronauts on the ISS, I know the machining of these engines inside and out. Regardless of where my career takes me, my dream is to push the space industry forward and make it more accessible to the public. There are stars, planets, and moons to be explored in our own cosmic backyard and beyond, and to me, the sooner that we establish a permanent off-world presence, the better.
