As higher ed began struggling, I choose to resign in search of a different work environment in spite of my success and calling. Opportunities to mentor and teach in a senior designer/art director role are at the top of my wish list! My personal body of work is about the research and experience of synesthesia (the automatic, consistent experience of multi-modal perception). My work has been juried into several academic conferences and exhibitions. I continued to freelance while teaching. I designed and implemented an interdisciplinary art/science/global education course with classroom and study abroad components centered on Iceland, which ran twice with great success. This involved carrying a complex project from concept to completion, managing endless details and information with an educational travel provider, a foreign guide, my own institution's staff, a collaborating colleague, and students, along with managing a 60-80,000 budget. As Chair of the Art Department and the Faculty Affairs Committee, I have had the opportunity to polish my team leadership skills, draft policy, manage projects, resolve conflicts, coordinate scheduling, and develop efficient digital workflows. Throughout my professional and personal life, I am dedicated to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging.
