Carolyn Jackson Email & Phone Number | I am interested in the poetry of space and influencing one's experience; when one steps over the threshold of a space it is my desire to transport them to another world, a better world or another world - one that evokes and aspires to leave an intangible but lasting memory. It was this curiosity that led me to study a Bachelor of Built Environment, majoring in Interior Design with a minor in Industrial Design at the Queensland University of Technology. After graduating in 2003 with honours, I worked in a number of Architectural and Design practices, including Bligh Graham Architects. It was during this time that I worked on the Samford Residence. In 2008, The Samford Residence was awarded the Royal Institute of Architects award for Interior Design. In 2006, I joined the Queensland Art Gallery and Gallery of Modern Art (GOMA) as Exhibition Designer. During this time, I designed an extensive number of exhibitions including Easton Pearson, The China Project, Picasso and His Collection, and Andy Warhol. Andy Warhol received the Design Institute Award for Exhibition Design in 2008. In late 2009, I joined the Museum of Brisbane as Exhibition and Design Manager furthering my skills in exhibition design and design management. In 2012, I established my own design practice, SuperAverage - a pseudonym bestowed on me by partner. SuperAverage endeavoured to design poetic and functional spaces. SuperAverage provided Interior, Exhibition, Set Design and Furniture Design services. During this time, I provided Interior Design services on the Dock St Warehouse refurbishment which was awarded 2015 Australian Interior Design Awards; Best in State Residential Design for Queensland. In 2013, I joined Aesop as International Visual Merchandising Manager. During this time, I have been fortunate to deliver a number of large scale installations, including The Aesop Nasotheque, Merci Installation 2014, Paris and the recent, sensory installation for Dark Mofo.
