Designed as a primitive program, we make most things we use in the field from what is available around us i.e. wood frame backpacks, spoons, baskets, and most importantly fire-making with a bow drill. It is a difficult job to take care of the youth and ensure that their needs are met and help them build skills for a better future, all while dealing with the harshest weather Utah can offer. Previously: Following my graduation from Wayne State University, I Thru-hiked the Appalachian Trail. I Have experience in retail with Moosejaw in Birmingham, MI. I have worked in the service industry with Hopcat-Detroit and Rojo Mexican Bistro in Birmingham, MI. In high school I was a two time all-state selection in lacrosse while attending Birmingham Seaholm. At Albion College I was a two time all-MIAA selection in lacrosse (2013,2014) before transferring to Wayne State University. Geology Field Camp with the South Dakota School of Mines: Studied and mapped the Neogene basin deposits consisting of depositional, volcanic and tectonic history of Montana’s border zone to the Yellowstone hot spot track. Volunteerism: • Regular volunteer with the Birmingham Michigan Rotary Club • Annual Salvation Army Christmas Bell-Ringer • Martin Luther King volunteer at Gleaner’s Food Bank • Collegiate Youth Camp Lacrosse Teacher • Various projects with the Saint James Episcopal Church Youth Group • Young Life Birmingham Chapter youth projects
