Young, spry, and ready to make a difference, I packed my entrepreneurial spirit into my brief case and salivated at the opportunity to unleash it. In January 2021 the clock had struck. Southern University Shreveport gave me an opportunity to display my process improvement skills. In my role as a loan coordinator, I managed over 5 million dollars in government based loans, directed the work studies program, and direct financial aid communications. During my stint I was able to increase student engagement by 18%, construct a CRM system for the financial aid program, and implement a new work study system that improved financial aid efficiency. Fast forward to the end of 2022, I took those same process improvement techniques but this time in healthcare. After brain dumping my higher ed knowledge in place of medical terminology that would be second nature to Doogie Howser, I've found a niche spot within my role as a business operations analyst. Automation has been at the for front of my process improvement journey. By using tools such as VBA, I was able to automate reports and reduce reporting time from 2 hours to 15 seconds! If someone would have asked me 5 years ago if I could see myself refining departments, reducing task times, and implementing new systems I would have looked at them crazy! But that's beauty of growing within your career. Everyday is new opportunity to do the unimaginable.
