I'm something of a Git expert, and I'm fluent in a number of different commonly used software engineering technologies (JIRA, GitHub, doxygen, wikis, etc.). I've been a member of teams that have used Agile methodologies effectively and it was a joy - so I know how productive such tools can be. I also love the Vi-iMproved (vim) editor and have given a number of presentations on how to use it as a replacement for bigger IDEs like Eclipse or Visual Studio. But, in a pinch, I can use those lessor editors too. I have been a professional Linux system administrator, and am comfortable configuring, deploying, and securing various application stacks. I run my own home Linux infrastructure so I can experiment with latest technologies and stay current (and maintain privacy/control over my own digital life). While I prefer to work on Linux, I'm no zealot - I still use a Windows computer to get work done. Technical writing isn't my favorite thing, but I'm good at it - I'm the primary author on two patents that Intel submitted to the US Patent Office, and my senior design team won the IEEE Region 6 (semi-national) student paper competition in 2012. I prefer to write in LaTeX, but Word will do too. I have a MS in Computer Science and a BS in Electrical Engineering. I also really enjoy math, though I don't get to use it much these days. Aside from work, rock climbing and skiing are big parts of my life and occupy much of my free time throughout the year.
