It has been one of the greatest honors of my life to be entrusted with the responsibility to care for the neonatal population in one of our nation’s top NICUs. As a Nurse Innovator for the Children's National Biodesign Program, I design, develop and test new medical devices and technology that aim to improve care delivery, patient safety and outcomes. In partnership with Children's National Hospital, I have a pending PCT patent application for my Connector Protector devices. We recently completed testing of these devices in an IRB approved study. I am delighted to be a member of the Alliance for Pediatric Device Innovation (APDI). We collaborate with startups, innovators and dedicated stakeholders from across the world aiming to advance the pediatric medical device ecosystem. As an advocate for Congenital Heart Disease, I partner with organizations to that provide support to patients and families. I was honored with the Lesia Bell Volunteer of the Year Award from the American Heart Association and presented at the 8th World Congress of Pediatric Cardiology and Cardiac Surgery in 2023. I'm looking to connect with other like-minded professionals who care about the impact of the current healthcare climate and the negative effect it's having on our patients, physicians, nurses and caregivers.
