I have a great love for special needs children and adults and making them feel happy and secure in their own normal, not the normality of others. I learned that many people have a different normal through shadowing in a special needs classroom at my old high school. This is where my heart grew for people with special needs. I volunteered at Special Olympics and that is where I learned my love for people with special needs. When I first began college I was a Nursing Major and a Psychology Minor but as I began my degree I realized that I wanted to be the leader in the room. I was honored with receiving one of the highest leadership awards HOBY, a leadership camp held at Winston Salem State University and I wanted to put those skills to use. I decided to work as an Occupational Therapist to lead those without a voice.
