Brett Heyl Email & Phone Number | I was born and raised in Vermont. My early life was dedicated to athletics and education. I was a competitive alpine ski racer through high school, until I decided to focus on my career in Whitewater Slalom Kayaking. Kayaking allowed me to spend extensive time internationally, developing a sense of the importance of a community’s built environment. After representing the United States in the 2004 Olympic Games, I continued to compete until 2012 while earning his B.A. in Economics from the University of North Carolina, also studying urban planning and serving on the US Olympic Committee’s Athlete Advisory Council. Combining Real Estate, economics and urban planning led me to Denver to begin my work in Real Estate Brokerage, Development and Management. I served as Project Manager for Urban Market Partners from 2014-2016, helping to manage over 40 million of office space and coordinating various ground-up and redevelopment projects. I then worked under President Obama doing Advance and Event work for the first family. This culminated in being in charge of the crowd for the 2012 Presidential Inauguration. It was a thrilling experience and it taught me the importance of doing work that matters, and doing it at the highest level possible. I was a co-founder of Slate Real Estate Advisors, where I managed all business and office operations for 6 years. As a boutique brokerage, Slate focused on downtown Denver condominiums, and is currently running sales and marketing for a 35m condominium project in Denver's LoHi neighborhood. Slate REA's sister company Slate Urban Development completed an award-winning Historic redevelopment in Des Moines, IA. I now work at Stantec, supporting their marketing efforts around proposal development, website content, and marketing collateral.
