I have experience with a number of IT projects and compliance frameworks, and some of my personal favorites include: - Readiness and Attesting CPA firm on SOC 1, SOC 2 and Agreed-Upon Procedures reports (you are right, the tediousness of the standards is not fun, but the output is extremely important for companies as an often necessary or useful tool to win new business) - Sarbanes Oxley 404 Compliance (you’d think it would get old after 18 years…I continue to learn and to be surprised by creative company and auditor approaches) - The wide world of SAP controls (I am not an ABAP coder - yuck, and certainly can’t stand up a new instance of SAP. What I truly enjoy is the ability to connect audit and compliance concepts to SAP configuration, reporting and processes to find the best possible way to squeeze value from SAP in a way that not only meetings audit and compliance requirements, but also efficiently removes risk or creates efficiencies) At the end of the day, when people ask me why I chose to go into Auditing and now running my own professional services company, my response has always been the same – I enjoy learning how different types of companies do business. To really understand that I focus on bridging the typical divides between business and IT functions so that I can communicate with impact across stakeholder groups with different backgrounds.
