Brent Weber Email & Phone Number | I am currently working as an engineering surveyor for the Tier 1 construction company ACCIONA in Adelaide, South Australia. In this role I am directly involved in the creation of new infrastructure which aims to benefit the community and improve the daily lives of all of us who use it. Some of these projects have been the City West Tramline Extension, Gateway South Project, O-Bahn City Access Project, Northern Connector Project, Gawler Rail Electrification Project, and currently the Majors Road Interchange project. Working on large scale infrastructure projects is something that I particularly enjoy and offers a diverse range of experiences and challenges. In this capacity I have been able to develop a strong working knowledge of engineering construction principles and techniques, including those related to earthworks, drainage, roads, utilities, rail, and bridges. This has been facilitated by working in both office and field environments from the early stage of projects to final completion. I believe my strengths in the office lie in my ability to interpret complex design drawings in order to create 3D models for survey set out, machine control, volumes, and other calculations. This is aided by my attention to detail and an in-depth working knowledge of 12d Model software. Planning, problem solving, design, and data management are also areas I do well in. In the field my strengths lie in working safely and efficiently using the latest survey equipment such as Leica robotic total stations and GNSS devices. Utilizing 12d Field and 12d Synergy software to run these is particularly suited to the projects I am involved with. After working in a number of different industries a return to study saw a change of direction into the civil construction sector as an engineering surveyor. Prior to being employed by Lendlease Engineering I worked for Engineering Surveys for seven years, an Adelaide based company providing quality survey solutions. This has given me an insight and experience into working for both small- and large-scale organizations within the industry. My career gives me the opportunity to be involved in exciting civil engineering projects that have a lasting legacy. Working with a diverse range of construction professionals to achieve a technically demanding common goal that can be seen and used provides me with job satisfaction. Utilizing the latest technology to achieve this outcome and the benefits this provides is also rewarding.
